Ayahuasca Retreats
We offer 7-day and 14-day retreats with traditional Amazonian shamans, in small groups of no more than 10 guests. Every retreat is designed around one goal: your safe and meaningful healing.
A retreat at La Luna del Amazonas is more than a series of ceremonies. It’s a complete week (or two) of healing, held in a real jungle setting, guided by experienced shamans, supported by a small team that knows what it takes to make a journey with Ayahuasca safe and meaningful. Below you’ll find everything you need to know.

More about the 7-Day Retreat
For seven days you will step out of the noise of the world and into the heart of the Amazon, where time slows down and the jungle itself becomes your teacher.
Across four sacred ayahuasca ceremonies, our shamans will open the path of the four elements, earth, water, fire, and air, bringing them into harmony within you, while gently dissolving the energetic knots that weigh on body, mind, and spirit.
This retreat is designed as an intensive journey of healing and discovery. The medicine continues its work long after you return home, planting seeds that will keep unfolding in dreams, insights, and subtle transformations.
During your stay, our shamans will sit with you personally, offering guidance, prayers, and healing songs that are just for you. And when you leave, you do not leave alone, the connection remains up to a year if you follow the post diet. You are always welcome to write to us, to share your questions or seek support as your path deepens.
Here you may find not only healing, but a home for your spirit.
More about the 14-Day Retreat
Two weeks in the heart of the Amazon… a gift of time to truly let go, to disconnect from the world and reconnect with your essence.
If you have the opportunity, we always recommend a two-week retreat. For most people, it takes a few ceremonies before a deep connection with the medicine is established and it is far more common than many realize for the first ceremonies to feel subtle.
With two weeks, there is no pressure if the connection doesn’t happen right away. The extended stay gives you the space to explore your intentions, move through challenges, and open more fully to the healing path.
While one week can certainly bring powerful transformation, two weeks allows the journey to deepen in a way that is truly profound.
During this extended retreat, you will have the rare opportunity to take part in up to 8 sacred ayahuasca ceremonies. The longer stay allows the medicine to work layer by layer, reaching into hidden places of memory, emotion, and spirit. Here, transformation is never rushed.
You are given the space to unravel, to release, and to blossom into something new.
A Week at La Luna
Curious what a week at La Luna actually looks like? Here’s a short glimpse of the rhythm, the place, and the people who make it real.
Our Facilities
Our center is built in the jungle, outside the small village of Santa María de Ojeal, with rainforest as your only surrounding. We are on the river and you can swim from the property.
Each guest stays in a private room with a private bathroom and shower. The maloka, our ceremony temple, is built from natural materials. Between ceremonies, you’ll find hammocks, a small library of psychedelic and spiritual literature, canoes for paddling on the river, and plenty of space to simply be still.
Food & Diet
During your retreat, all meals follow the traditional ayahuasca diet, with limited salt, sugar, and oils. This isn’t about restriction; it’s about opening the body to receive the medicine fully.
Our chef prepares fresh, locally sourced meals inspired by traditional Amazonian ingredients like yuca, plantains, and seasonal fruits. We accommodate vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets. After your retreat, our shamans will provide individual post-diet guidelines to help you continue integrating.
Before Your Retreat
Before you book, please read our medical guidelines carefully. Ayahuasca contains MAOIs which interact with certain medications, and participation is not recommended for some medical conditions.
We don’t require a strict diet before your retreat, but we encourage you to eat as healthily as possible. Stay away from pork for at least one week, and avoid alcohol and sexual activity for 48 hours before arrival. The cleaner you arrive, the less physical purging you’ll experience, and the sooner the medicine can work on a deeper level.
Book your flights to Iquitos (IQT). We pick up our guests downtown Iquitos on Monday at 12 PM and drop off on Sunday around noon, enough time to catch the 2 PM flight to Lima.
Integration
The retreat doesn’t end when you leave. The medicine continues to process for weeks, sometimes months, after your last ceremony. Integration is how you turn the insights and healing you received into lasting change in your daily life.
During your retreat, our shamans will share tools and individual post-diet guidelines to support your integration. After you return home, we can refer you to psychedelic integration therapists in most countries. You’re also welcome to join our online community to connect with others who have walked the same path.
