Your safety is our highest priority.
At La Luna del Amazonas, every aspect of our center has been designed to create a secure and supportive environment for deep healing. Surrounded by the natural home of Ayahuasca itself, you are guided by experienced shamans, compassionate facilitators, and a well-prepared team dedicated to your care.
We have established comprehensive safety measures to address any situation that may arise, ensuring you can fully focus on your healing journey.
Our Safety Measures Include:
Intimate group sizes – maximum of 12 participants per retreat.
-
Medical preparedness – complete first-aid kits at the center, with CPR and first-aid certified staff and facilitators.
-
Medical support – direct access to a trusted doctor in Iquitos.
-
Emergency transport – 24/7 availability, with a speedboat ride of just 40 minutes to Iquitos.
-
Guest screening – thorough medical questionnaires and reviews before participation.
-
Fire safety – extinguishers available on site.
-
Dedicated supervision – at least one facilitator per ceremony (depending on group size), always sober and present to ensure participant safety.
-
Aftercare in the maloka – compassionate support provided by facilitators and healers for as long as needed after ceremonies.
-
Experienced shamans – healers from long-standing lineages, known for their ethical and respectful practices.
-
Skilled facilitators – each with experience in over 500 ceremonies, trained in psychedelic harm reduction, and familiar with the principles of the Zendo Project (MAPS.org).
-
Integration support – guidance from facilitators and healers to help you process and integrate your experiences after the retreat.
-
Ayahuasca diet meals – carefully prepared by our experienced chef, with many years of service in plant medicine centers.
-
Balanced program – designed to give you spaciousness for self-reflection and healing, rather than filling your days with distractions or activities. (Adventure tours are best enjoyed at another time, outside of your retreat.)
-
Pure medicine – our Ayahuasca is brewed on-site by our shamans, using only fresh chacruna leaves and the Ayahuasca vine. Nothing else is added.
